About Tamlyn:
I am a London-trained professional homeopath who has been in Homeopathic practice since 1999.
I came to Homeopathy after I had obtained a degree in Psychology from The University of Cape Town, in South Africa. During the course of my Psychology studies, I had fallen in love with the subject of Health Psychology, but wanted more from a practise than dealing with just one aspect of a person’s health at a time, i.e. their mental health. I explored many other options within the health professions and considered pursuing the study of medicine. Once again, I was faced with the same dissatisfaction and limitations as with Psychology, because I believed that one should address the entire individual as a whole, within its context, and not just treat their individual health complaints in isolation. This is when I began to expand my exploration into Homeopathy, and discovered in it a complete and powerful system of medicine, which addresses the entire individual as a unique and dynamic whole.
Soon after I qualified as a professional homeopath, I became a Resident volunteer homeopath at a periodic low cost Children’s Homeopathic Clinic in South London. This is where I realised my forte in working with children and gained much experience in treating children’s ailments, including eczema, behavioural issues, childhood illnesses, and recurrent coughs and colds.
Although Homeopathy is where my true passion lies, I also have great interest in and extensive knowledge of other types of natural remedies, such as herbal remedies, nutritional supplements, Bach flower essences & aromatherapy. Having worked for many years as a health advisor for one of London’s most successful health stores, I learnt that homeopathy can be enhanced by a more complete knowledge of the effects of nutrition and lifestyle on an individual’s state of health.
Today I practice at Cure By Nature in Southfields, South London.
I run regular Homeopathic First Aid Courses, teaching parents how to use homeopathy in the home for minor ailments.
I am a registered member of the Society of Homeopaths and abide by their Code of Ethics.
